Katoomba and mobile connectivity

Tuesday, 8 April 2008 00:35 by Beatrice

Well, once you head down the trails from Echo Point there is no mobile connectivity which suited me just fine. Over the weekend I had time to make this side trip into the Blue Mountains and hike through Leura Forest and see some waterfalls and interesting foilage. There are some  20km trails on the map I'd like to hike but this weekend wasn't it. Looks like I'll have to return.

I did make some friends along the way and got some really awesome shots of the three sisters with a rainbow in the background.

There are some steps at the backside of Echo Point/Three Sisters called the "Giant Stairway", (about 900 or so) that let you descend right down into that green stuff where it is nice and quiet except for the birds and rustling leaves. To my luck there were not many tourists and soon I found myself alone on the trail which was fun until it got dark. And then it started to rain. That was one of the greatest experiences, really. But next time I'll bring raingear and a map.

Just gotta love that part of Australia!

Did he share your enthusiasm for Windows Mobility? He looks like he probably invented the code.

If you want the best bushwalking in Australia, then you need to come down to Tasmania. All the bushwalking tourists do the Overland Track (which is pretty good), and the hardcore walkers do the walks into the South West. But there are lots of beautiful walks all over our pretty state.
Although being Tasmanian I am biased Smile
