IT appears that the shortage of skilled IT professionals is still very apparent. Years ago it seemed there were no jobs/contracts, and now there are not enough people to fill the void. All I have to say is GET CERTIFIED!
I just received an email from Michael, a friend of mine who is a training developer/coordinator for the US Army, containing a list of IT Contractor openings. He tells me that the Army Logistics Command is consolidating its command and moving to Warren Michigan. There will be a good number of IT jobs and he is looking for local contractors.
The list accompanying his email not only listed work in Warren, MI, but also covered locations like Stuttgart, Germany; Washington, DC; Honolulu, HI; Tampa, FL; Seoul, Korea; Monteray, CA.
Contracting positions range from IT Analyst and IT Systems Manager to Web Designer & Engineer. If you are interested send me an email at beatrice@sbstraining.net and I will put you in touch with Michael.
Also, a management consulting company in Ann Arbor, MI is looking for a sys admin to manage their Windows infrastructure - preferrably holding the MCSE certification, but it all depends on your skills & background so don't let that hold you back if you are interested. This is a small business so any SBSC should feel comfortable there. Send me an email and I will put you in touch with the owner.
Ciao, Beatrice
