Alright, so this is a different type of technical (biotech) entry into this blog (no worries there will be lots of SBS 2008 stuff soon) but I thought I spread the cheer to all of you that actually care about what you eat/put into their body. So yes I have been a vegetarian for a while but in no way will I try to talk you out of eating hormon ladden, antibiotics-injected meat from cows that were fed chicken poop and pesticide-soaked grains that will cause some form of cancer in a human body eventually.
I recommend reading this article FDA Considers Engineered Animals for Food http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/18/tech/main4457337.shtml?source=RSSattr=HOME_4457337 as well as Report: Frankenfood Flourishing http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/01/13/tech/main592965.shtml?source=related_story to learn more about genetically modified and cloned food. When you buy that yummy looking tomato, would you like to know if it was Genetically Modified?
You can get informed and take action at www.citizen.org on this and many other issues that we usually do not pay attention to (maybe because we got our head to deeply stuck in a network somewhere?) I have been following www.citizen.org for the past four years and find it an easy way to stay informed and occasionally write to my congressman.
Do you really believe it's not necessary for you to do something about this, because you think someone else will do something about it? Think again!
